Basic Skills Self-Assessment - Data

Strictly defined, Basic Skills courses are limited to those where the MIS code [CB08='P' or 'B'] is set. Locally, this corresponds to 200 level courses (local course numbering). However, a broader definition of Developmental Education might include all courses designed to prepare students for Transfer level work.

Cabrillo College courses which meet the strict definition of Basic Skills are '200 level' courses. These course are two levels below transfer and are not degree-applicable. Next, there are '100 level' courses which are one level below transfer. These count toward an A.A. or A.S. Degree but do not transfer to CSU or UC.

This analysis (separately) looks at both the 200 and 100 level students/courses.
